About Waymark Lab
Built From the Inside Out
Waymark Lab was founded by public sector technology veterans with decades of experience building and managing enterprise software systems inside one of the largest county social services agencies in the United States. We have worked alongside eligibility workers, supervised technology teams serving hundreds of thousands of SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF cases, and navigated the real-world complexity of CalSAWS, CDSS compliance, and county procurement — because we have lived it from the inside.
"Waymark Lab builds AI infrastructure and products for the public benefits ecosystem. Drawing on two decades of operator experience inside county social services, we develop both open infrastructure for the field and applications that help government agencies modernize the systems millions of Americans depend on."

What We Bring to the Table
Our Values
What We Stand For
These aren't aspirational wall words. They're the principles that drive every product decision we make.
Integrity First
We don't oversell, over-promise, or under-deliver. Government agencies need partners they can trust — and trust is built through honesty about what we can and cannot do.
Security Without Compromise
Sensitive citizen data is not negotiable. We build every system as if we are personally responsible for every record it contains — because we believe we are.
Real Impact
Our measure of success is whether a CalFresh family kept their benefits, or a caseworker finished their day without burning out. Not lines of code or features shipped.
Deep Partnership
We don't sell software and disappear. We embed with county teams, learn the culture, understand the constraints, and stay through the hard parts of implementation.
Our Approach
HHS Experience Is Not Optional
There's a long history of technology companies entering the benefits administration market with commercial tools and impressive pitch decks — only to underestimate the complexity of public benefits operations. Federal program rules. SAR-7 deadline cycles. HIPAA requirements. State compliance mandates. Budget constraints. We know all of it — because we've lived it from the inside.
Our team has worked inside county DPSS agencies, inside state-level benefits programs, and alongside the caseworkers who manage America's most critical social safety net. We started in California — operating systems serving hundreds of thousands of CalFresh, Medi-Cal, and CalWORKs cases — and we bring that operational depth to every product we build, regardless of state or program.
That means slower, more deliberate product development. More time inside your eligibility workflows before writing a line of code. More stakeholder engagement. And better outcomes for caseworkers and the families they serve.
