Waymark Lab Book a free Process Review

We improve the processes nobody ever designed.

A software studio working on the unglamorous half of a business.

What we do

Every company runs on processes that accumulated rather than got designed. Receivable that is chased out of a spreadsheet. Certificates tracked on a shared drive. A dispatch board that exists in one person's head. They are not broken enough to replace and not small enough to ignore, so a person holds them together instead.

We map one of those processes, build the software that runs it, and put AI where the repetitive reading and drafting happens. The result is not a platform or a transformation. It is one department getting a day back every week, and a process that survives the day its owner takes a vacation.

We work with private companies in construction, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare administration and professional services.

Why we show the software first

Most software proposals are written in the language of the people selling them. They describe phases, workstreams and outcomes, and they cannot be judged until the money is spent. A screenshot is different. Anybody who has actually done the job can look at one screen for fifteen seconds and tell you whether the person who built it understood the work.

So we build the screens first. You walk us through the process, or we work it out from the role that is holding it together, and we build three screens of it with invented data. Then the person who owns the problem reacts to something real.

Sometimes we get it wrong, and the reply is one line explaining why. That reply is worth more than a discovery workshop and it costs the person sending it about a minute.

The people who design these screens have run the systems they are replacing.

Years spent building business systems for operations, finance and compliance teams, which is why the first version already understands what the work involves.

Every engagement is staffed with designers and engineers and a named project lead who works directly with the operations lead who owns the process. You get a written update every week and working software to click, not a progress report about work you cannot see.

What a project costs

How we price: a fixed price to build, agreed in writing before anything starts and scoped as screens, then a flat monthly care plan once it is live.

Typical length: weeks. From the first call to software running against real data with the people who will use it.

Who works on it: a dedicated team. Designers, engineers and a named project lead. You talk to the people who are building it, every week.

You own what we build for you. The code written for you, your data and the documentation, whether or not you ever call us again.

What we believe about this work

The job is never what the job title says

Aged receivable is usually a paperwork problem, not a collections problem. A dispatch board is a knowledge problem, not a scheduling problem. Getting that distinction right is the difference between software that gets used and software that gets a login page nobody visits.

Speed is the whole product

If the new tool is slower than the spreadsheet for the person doing the work, the record is empty within a month and the process quietly moves back to where it was. Every design decision answers to that.

AI belongs inside the workflow

A document read with a confidence on every field, a follow up drafted from the record, a check that names what is missing before a packet goes out. Shown with its basis, overridable in one click, and never a chat box in the corner.

Fixed price, or the incentives are wrong

Hourly billing pays a studio to be slow. A price agreed before anything starts pays us to understand the process quickly and build the smallest thing that actually replaces it.

The same thinking applies after launch. One flat monthly fee means keeping the software healthy never becomes a meter running.

What you will not find on this site

  • No client logos and no testimonials until they are real. Every company shown in the work is invented, and the software says so on the screen.
  • No customer counts and no revenue figures. Numbers like that cannot be checked by anyone reading them, so they are worth nothing.
  • No claim of a result we cannot show you. What we can show you is the work itself, built before anyone paid for it.

Before you hire another person to do it, talk to us.

Twenty minutes on a call. You will know what we would automate first, what it would cost and how long it would take.
